The version is dated 1926. Rediscovered after the Second World War it has been opportunely resized, patiently re-edited in the footage and sound-added.
The original material was filmed in the iron mines of Isola d’Elba, in the factories of Portoferraio and in those of Bagnoli and Piombino, among the largest in Italy.
This film talks about the siderurgical industry not only from a technologically point of view, but also in terms of human effort and suffering.
