A man and a woman who dedicated their life to science, two major figures of Italian scientific research unveil themselves in a short parallel interview. They are both familiar to the public at large: on one hand Margherita Hack (astrophysics), on the other Antonino Zichichi (particle physics). Short questions for short answers: the interview spans from cultural interests to personal curiosities, from the results of their scientific research to passions. Your shoe size? 40 for Hack, 42 for Zichichi. Your most important discovery? The characteristics of Epsilon Aurigae for Hack, Antimatter for Zichichi. Your favourite band in the electromagnetic spectrum? The entire spectrum, or no favourite band for Zichichi; the one she worked a lot on - ultraviolet - for Hack. What’s your favourite way of communicating: letters, e-mails, or cell phones? Zichichi prefers handwritten letters, while Hack goes for the convenience and speed of the email.
