The 2010 edition of Vedere la Scienza Festival, International Film, Video and Documentary Festival, will take place in Milan from the 22nd to the 28th of March.
As usual the Festival Programme embraces every scientific fields (astrophysics and cosmology, life sciences, natural sciences, chemistry, environment and climate, history of science, environment and energetic resources, …). As 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity the 2010 edition of the Festival will devote a special session to BIODIVERSITY.
All the Festival sessions are open to the public, journalist, experts, students; the admittance is free.
Morning sessions (monday to friday) are reserved to schools.

FREE ADMITTANCE
Vedere la Scienza Festival is composed by a Competition and a Show of historic and recent titles not in competition.
The Competition (Festival, morning and afternoon sessions, titles in bordeaux) is reserved to a selection of films, documentaries and videos produced in the last two years, coming from over 20 counrties in the world, among all the submitted entries. Those titles will be judged by an International Jury: an award will be assesses for each category. The Programme is organised in tematic sessions, as you can see in the following lines, in order to give the public the opportunity to choice. In total more than 50 titles, mostly never seen in Italy.
The Show (evening sessions and wek-end, titles in blue) is dedicated to biodiversity, focusing on the different interpretations the cinema have proposed along his history with some of the most celebrated authors and directors. From one side the show will present a meeting with the beauty of our planet, his species and his peculiarities. From the other side the show will present some difficult tasks like: biodiversity directed by man, cultural (bio)diversity, acceptance of the diversity and the adaptation to the environment.
The Sunday afternoon session (titles in violet) is for kids and young people.
Films and documentaries with (*) are participating to the competition.
Throughout the week, the agenda offers 65 titles, including history and lifestyle, auteur movies, and top-level documentaries, with comments and debates open to the public at large.

SCIENCE ON CLICK! A WORKSHOP ON SCIENTIFIC PHOTOGRAPHY AND SCIENTIFIC VIDEOS
Young students present their scientific images taken with a digital camera. Scientific and aesthetical discussion with experts from the University of Milan, the Museum of Contemporrary Photography and Scienza under 18.
